UNVEILS PHASE ONE LINEUP WITH GOLDIE AND THE ENSEMBLE, NIGHTMARES ON WAX, SIRINTIP, KWEKU COLLINS, HUUN HUUR TU AND MORE
Pattaya, Thailand – Wonderfruit, Thailand’s pioneering, carbon-neutral four-day celebration of the arts and sustainable living returns in 2018 for its fifth installment, with international live music acts and DJs, perspective-shifting talks and workshops, world-class cuisine, cutting-edge architecture, and much more. Leading its preview of the first phase music line-up, Wonderfruit announces its plans for its new permanent location. Wonderers from all over the world are invited to return to the beautiful Thai countryside for the ultimate destination retreat from 13-16 December 2018. Phase one tickets and accommodations are on sale now.
Located just a kilometer away from the previous site still within the grounds of Siam Country Club, Wonderfruit’s new home is not only bigger in size but also abundant in natural features and presents an opportunity for the festival to become completely sustainable in years to come. Locally sourced bamboo will act as the foundation of venues, stages, architectural structures, art installations and booths for vendors. Wonderers can expect lush venues surrounded by shady coconut plantations, tropical evergreen forests, pristine lakes and beach and stunning sunsets and sunrises set against mountain vistas. To preserve its natural splendor, the new site will also have a zero single-use plastic policy in place.
Wonderfruit also announces the first names on its music lineup, including drum and bass pioneer GOLDIE AND THE ENSEMBLE, iconic Warp mainstay NIGHTMARES ON WAX, New Zealand-born producer and multi-instrumentalist LORD ECHO, plus Tuvan throat singers HUUN HUUR TU joined by DJ CARMEN RIZZO. Joining them will be Thai-Swedish songstress SIRINTIP, rapper KWEKU COLLINS and Bangkok- based singer SYPS. The bill also features LIBELLA, FLEETMAC WOOD from US, musical maverick HOWIE LEE from China, veteran disco DJ group HORSE MEAT DISCO plus SEB WILDBLOOD, YOUNG MARCO and Swedish duo GIDGE. More acts will be confirmed in the coming months.
