Bodies, Brains & Psychedelics: conversation between artist Grace Ndiritu & neurologist Dr. Ash Ranpura
Following a screening of her 2022 film Becoming Plant, artist Grace Ndiritu will join neurologist Dr. Ash Ranpura for a free-wheeling conversation about the nature of the body, the mind, and psychedelic experiences. They will explore the parallels between fractal patterns in plants and in the human brain, the balance of personal identity between the self and the group, and the relationship between the biology of neural responses to psychedelic drugs and the nature of the psychedelic experience. Interspersed with moments of meditation and body-based exploration, this will be a working conversation in which two practitioners from widely different backgrounds find a common language and a shared lens through which to examine the nature of the mind.
