Italy’s capital city is currently facing a drought. With his heart still in Rome, Chef Paolo Vitaletti runs a Roman trattoria called Appia in Bangkok and wanted to borrow a local tradition from his new home in Thailand to bring rain to his beloved homeland. So he wrote a letter to his friend Eve in Isaan and asked her to call the rain gods. She launched a rocket, a Bung Fai custom, and rain arrived in Rome. They celebrated the wet day in Italy with food, drinks and dancing in the mud—and this cross-cultural experience is the spirit upon which this Wonder Feast is built. Brace your palate for an adventurous culture clash of Isaan cooking and Italian cuisine by Chef Paolo of Appia and Nutthida Palasak of Zao Isaan, where intriguing new combinations and unexpected pairings make up a magnificent new menu designed only for The Fields.
