Freaking Out The Neighborhood
Kiratra (Ki) Promsaka Na Sakolnakorn has been behind Bangkok’s alternative/indie live music scene as one of the co-founders of HAVE YOU HEARD? and Maho Rasop Festival. James Gilbody is a DJ and promoter who’s been throwing events in Bangkok for the past 12 years, from Phatfunk drum 'n' bass to hardcore punk nights. Together they recently opened Freaking Out The Neighborhood, an alternative listening bar down a sleepy soi in Sukhumvit 36.
As the name suggests, they don’t play your regular listening bar jazz but full albums ranging from indie, psychedelic rock and shoegaze to trip hop, punk, metal and alternative jazz.
Listening to a full album has become a rare occurrence and something Ki and James wanted to encourage, listening to it as the artist intended, the full musical journey.
