Isan Morphine
Isan Morphine is a special project curated especially for Wonderfruit by Rabih Beaini.
Rabih Beaini started in the early 90s as an avid record collector and selector. Born in Lebanon, he started a DJ career and since he moved to Italy and been deep into music production, sound engineering and midi programming while studying architecture in Venice. He established Morphine Records in 2005, the Elefante Rosso venue in 2009, and finally moved to Berlin in 2012. Since then, he has been deeply active in the city’s scene and involved in the core experimental, improv and electronic music movement.
Isan Morphine infuses the spirit of Molam and live traditional Isaan instruments by local artists into his avant-garde underground sound, pushing musical boundaries into ununexpected realms of Molam soundscapes.
