Lokapala: An Offering of Neo-Lanna Dance by Ronnarong (Ong) Khampha
Offering is a form of practice at Dhyana. An offering can come in many forms, including our own practice to the spirit of land, the unseen and the spiritual. Somatic awareness as practice, slow elegant motions, precise footwork, facial expressions and ornamental costumes are part of this offering. The program sets a motion of intention in invoking the sacredness of the space, an offering of Neo-Lanna dance, rooted in Lanna (the ancient name of the Kingdom from the north of Thailand) contemplative tradition, presented with contemporary expression.
