Michael Cignarale (Medusa)
Michael Cignarale is the elusive combination of producer and performer, both a studio fiend crafting pumping house gems and a true diva on the mic and in the DJ booth. He is the Co-Founder and resident DJ of Medusa, one of Shanghai’s longest-running monthly queer parties and record labels. His DJ sets blend high energy, sex-drenched 90s house and frequently include live singing from the glittered-drag diva herself. In the last decade, he has been instrumental in building Shanghai’s queer dance scene, organizing events, mentoring other artists and releasing music on multiple labels. Michael has been featured on The Blessed Madonna’s BBC Radio 6 Show, The Story of and The Sweatbox, and currently resides in Brooklyn, New York.
