Oracular Experiments: Perfuming by Siôn Parkinson
Scent has long been associated with the sacred and the magical, conveying messages through the air, revealing truths or forewarning terrible futures. In a series of intimate, one-to-one performances, Scottish artist and composer Siôn Parkinson blends sound and smell to alter atmospheres and affect thought and memory. Participants are invited to come with open minds (noses, mouths, pores) to embrace the imaginative possibilities of, say, the cleansing breeze of ozonic scent or the grounding influence of the earthy-green odors of vegetal life. Each encounter is limited to one person at a time, and lasts for no more than 15-20 minutes.
This performance is supported by the British Council.
