Rocco Universal
Rocco Universal is the alter-ego of DJ, producer and journalist, Patrizio Cavaliere. Currently lost in a haze of psychedelic melodies somewhere in Asia, Patrizio has been crate-digging and moving dance floors for over two decades. Playing internationally as well as being a regular at London's Turf series, he's performed alongside many of the esoteric dance community's most revered artists, including Hunee, Giles Peterson, Floating Points, Ben UFO, Soul Clap, Romare, and Ross from Friends among many others. His cultured production work has seen him release music on benchmark labels including Soul Clap, Leng, Kolour Recordings, and Midnight Riot.
An artist who prefers not to be defined or restricted by genres, he lovingly assembles dynamic sounds from an ever-expanding catalog of eclectic grooves. All kinds of good music are considered and chosen carefully depending on where he plays, whether he's igniting late-night dancefloors, providing blissed-out sunset soundtracks, or anything in between.
In 2019 he set up the Cosmic Tiger blog, and he writes regularly for various music publications, including Juno Daily and Mixmag Asia. From these platforms, he's interviewed a diverse array of artists, including Kevin Saunderson, Roisin Murphy, Horse Meat Disco, Session Victim, Auntie Flo, Daniel Wang and Sasha.
