"As advances in technology make our physical world smaller, and our relational world more connected, more and more of us are going further faster and for longer. So what does it mean to travel? How can we think about travel differently? And how do the things we experience in the outer world change our relationship with our inner world? This talk explores these questions from different perspectives, examining slow travel, sustainable travel, and persistent travel.

Jaclyn Yost is a sustainable tourism professional passionate about local tourism and shedding light on environmental and social sustainability matters through travel. She is the founder of ecomadic, a curated marketplace for local and sustainable travel. ecomadic’s mission is to empower travelers to make more impactful decisions with their tourism dollars. Additionally, she is a Sustainability & Marketing/Editorial Consultant for various media, PR and tourism agencies, where she works on global projects centered around sustainable development.

The co-founder of Slow, Claus has been at the forefront of innovation in travel and design for more than 30 years. Realizing early the need for alternatives to conventional ways of traveling, Claus founded Design Hotels in 1993, the first hotel marketing consortium dedicated its efforts to the newly arising boutique hotel movement at the end of the last century. An authority in travel and design, Claus is frequently engaged as a speaker, panelist and jury member. He was honored at the European Hotel Design Awards for outstanding contributions to the industry in 2018, and was named by Condé Nast Traveller as one of the 48 people changing the way we travel."
