Time helps us to interpret and make sense of our world.

Meditation guides us beyond that ordinary understanding, and helps us to connect with the infinite. In this process, we aim to free ourselves from earthly distractions and to embrace the peace that comes with accepting the fleeting nature and impermanence of all things.

In Sonic Minds, we delve inward and outward, exploring both the self and the surrounding world — connecting with a space, a time, with a moment through sound. By doing so, we strive to transcend these temporary experiences, forging new insights and connections along the way.

Born from the experience of walking meditation in the fields during Sonic Minds Camp 2024, Ancestral Forest Cycle is an immersive sound journey within the Unconditional Space. It blends a sonic representation of the surrounding forest with a series of hyperreal, fleeting moments recorded in the fields. These sounds mirror the thoughts that enter our minds during meditation, only to dissipate through our efforts as we refocus.

Each diffusion of the installation will have a different feel, progressing through the day’s rhythm: morning, afternoon, evening.

The sounds featured were recorded at Sonic Minds Camp 2024, and then processed to form the final piece.
