Island by Bangkok-based conceptual artist Ruangsak Anuwatwimon is a site-specific installation project from 2018 that operates directly on the land, focusing on the water elements and the wild botany it feeds. It dramatizes the vitality of water both in foreign and local places in the form of icebergs, alienated from its tropical hosting space and as poetic monuments that embody the purity of this matter. The installation structures encapsulate a selected plot of the Wonderfruit land, harvesting moisture released from the ground to regenerate a thriving and conflicting ecology inside.
