Hailing from Kuching, Sarawak, Meruked is a dynamic six-piece band blending traditional Bornean sape, a traditional boat lute instrument, with contemporary sounds. Their music weaves ambient, post-rock influences with the enchanting tones of the sape, creating immersive and euphoric experiences. Since 2016, they’ve captivated audiences with their unique fusion, embodying the spirit of their name, Meruked, which is derived from the native Lun Bawang tribe dialect and means everlasting. It reflects their commitment to preserving traditional music for future generations.
