This talk will explore the influence of time on architecture, examining its role as an active determinant in the creation, location, preservation, transformation, destruction and contextual evolution of our built environment. Looking at real-world examples, Ab will consider buildings as vessels or instruments uniquely manifested to reveal and document the passage of time, acting as a canvas for shifting shadows and meteorological scars, a playground for creeping plants, and a frame for views re-invented by the changing seasons.
