Brainwaves & Beats: The Neuroscience of Music Workshop
This workshop explores how rhythm, frequency and intention shape brainwave states, emotion and the shared energy of a dancefloor. Led by eco-warrior and DJ Halim Ardie alongside Calvin Khan, a deaf artist whose practice reframes how we experience sound through vibration and sensory substitution. The session weaves accessible neuroscience with guided listening and reflection, examining how the brain's auditory, somatosensory and motor systems interact to shape perception. Through Club Conscious, Halim has spent years using music as a force for community impact, environmental action and mental-health awareness. His work spans fundraising, sustainability consulting and policy advocacy, all rooted in the belief that sound can shift both people and systems. Here, he and Calvin invite participants to understand music not only as experience, but as influence and possibility.
