In ‘When Wind and Humanity Play’, Takashi Hokoi invites viewers to engage in a dialogue with nature, reflecting on humanity’s reliance on human-made energy and its impact on the environment. The installation is set in the Ancestral Forest, where trees planted by human hands two years ago now reach upward. In this immersive space, visitors can experience nature through the rustling leaves and the gentle wind, fostering connection and communication.
Born in Japan in 1984, Hokoi graduated from the University of Tsukuba in 2008 and completed his Master’s at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2010.
