Molam World places Isaan culture in the heart of The Fields, platforming a centuries-old musical tradition from Northeast Thailand and the surrounding region. Bawdy, witty, sunny and sometimes melancholic, Molam combines local instruments like the khaen and phin with electric influences, including the psychedelic sounds introduced to the region by American soldiers in the 60s.
Joining the Molam Bus, farm tower and regional food vendors is a new Molam Theatre by PO-D Architects. A humble stage expands into a mixed-use wooden venue that contemporizes Isaan building methods and folk social structure, where the spirit of Isaan mingles with root music from around the world.
