These collective efforts especially thrive at Wonderfruit 2024, giving rise to fresh experiences. Programming at Creature Stage widens to include theatre this year. Don’t miss Autobiography (v104) by Company Wayne McGregor. This groundbreaking project redefines choreography by integrating DNA sequencing with personal memoirs and AI, creating unique dance portraits for the performance.
Polygon Live mainstay Photay welcomes a whole new sound to the venue this year to truly test the limits of its spatial technology. Joining hands with Tuvan throat singers Huun-Huur-Tu for a fusion of tradition and modernity, their debut performance promises a one-of-a-kind showcase of culture and electronica.
Emel Rowe and Miguel Santiago, aka Saint Guel, bring the Filipino party spirit to Solar Stage this year. They’re working on a special showcase, blending their unique styles for an exclusive showcase that creates moments that feel like home, wherever you are.
Maft Sai, the visionary behind Zudrangma Records and the Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band, is debuting an avant-garde project at Molam World with Isan Clan that melds Molam with Thai percussion and Isaan instruments. The project continues Maft Sai’s ongoing work to connect the past with the future, and modernize Molam music.
Bottlesmoker are returning to Forest Stage in the Ancestral Forest and collaborating with Modern Biology (Tarun Nayar) for a unique performance that literally taps into nature. Bottlesmoker will play music derived from plants, while Modern Biology will play music derived from mushrooms for an altogether atmospheric and meditative musical experience.
Back at Creature Stage, award-winning composer and synth artist Hannah Peel and virtuoso percussionist Beibei Wang will perform a not-to-miss exploration of rhythm and sound. Their one-off improvisation blends synths, Chinese drums, gongs and water percussion to create immersive soundscapes that evoke feelings of diverse worlds and cities.
