Wonderfruit has always been a home for families to discover together. Our hope is for children and parents to grow alongside us, embracing new ideas and trying unique experiences they might not find anywhere else.
This year, we expanded how families can explore together in The Fields, and designed more experiences specifically tailored for kids who are looking after their parents at Wonderfruit.
Here are a few activities to get you started, but don’t let this limit your exploration—there’s so much more to come.
Start at the Ancestral Forest
When we started growing this forest in 2022, it was always meant to be a place of deep exploration and connection to nature through workshops and activities. Last year we welcomed Wonderers to plant a tree and not only invest in the future of the land through rewilding but also grow alongside their tree when they return year after year.
This initiative returns in 2024 and welcomes families to book a free Journey in which you can reserve a tree to plant in The Fields this year. The number of trees available for planting is limited, so book quickly to join this very special experience.
Elsewhere in the Ancestral Forest, families are invited to explore Forest Stories by SUGi, a series of graphic and textual installations that narrate forest stories empathetically and colorfully across the forest floor.
Walk your way over to Wonderness for well-being
It’s never too early to start a wellness or awareness practice. This year, we took great care in creating experiences the kids can enjoy too, and encourage families to explore more activities within this sacred space.
If your kids are interested in bending and stretching, a Gentle Wonder Flow class will ease them into simple yoga poses. Fun will be had for all ages in a class that uses a hula hoop to encourage meditation in movement. For something a little more relaxed, unravel emotional healing with aromatherapy and create a personalized perfume scent inspired by the spirit. But if you need to get rid of any busy energy, try a Master Boxing Class, designed for all levels.
Visit our on-site bazaar Taste of Wonder
With plenty of treasures to be found, Taste of Wonder is an exhilarating market full of spontaneous moments of fun. While you’re there, check out Embrace, an art installation by Hear & Found x Nanu Youttananukorn that explores maternal love through traditional lullabies.
Nearby Embrace, you’ll also find a Karen Pow Play workshop where you can discover indigenous knowledge, balance on bamboo poles, knock down seeds (think natural bowling) and more. This is also where you’ll discover a Nature Coloring Workshop that uses materials from the community and surroundings to create vibrant pigments and artistic creations. Both workshops are led by Huay Hin Dam community x Hear & Found.
Paint your hands blue at Indigo World
This community hub has evolved to be a meeting point for curious minds tapping into the brilliant hues of Indigo. There is something happening all day long, even if it’s just admiring all the dyed garments drying in the sun. But we recommend during a Public Indigo Dyeing experience, or if your kids are early birds, a Sunrise Indigo Dyeing experience.
While you’re here, explore Fatima Najm’s Ethical Foraging & Ceremonial Leaf-Tapping workshop, which teaches how to extract natural pigments from plant leaves and stems.
Swing by Solar Village
Just next door to Solar Village, you’ll find a workshop called Outside to Inside the Camera Workshop by Meeratchata Rujinarong & Team that delves into the principles of light and photography by stepping into a human-scale camera.
Finish up at The Walk
By Boonserm Premthada, The Walk is an elevated walkway above the grass that weaves around trees. It also makes for a fantastic photo of your little Wonderers skipping along its curved red path.
There is plenty more to do as a family in The Fields, and more activities are being added to the programme daily. Explore it all here.
