Since its inception, Wonderfruit has been supported by our friends at Jim Thompson, whose dedication to recycling, upcycling and making beautiful things matches our own.
This year, not only is Jim Thompson co-presenting the Farm Stage, but design team all(zone) have used their fabric off cuts in the vast shade, which will cover the structure and, thanks to their silky additions, cast shadow and color beneath it. Recycled silk from Jim Thompson is used elsewhere in The Fields as well, including upholstery for the cushions in The Ziggurat and around the Living Stage bar.
Back by popular demand, meanwhile, is the Molam Bus by Jim Thompson Art Center. Hop on board the bus to explore the exhibition space and learn about the social history and musical traditions of Thailand’s Isaan province. As evening falls, authentic bands from the region will perform on the truck, including improvisational Isaan band All Thidsa, contemporary Thai fusion ensemble, Boonhugsa and Ohn Kaenkiaw with his iconic green reed organ. Join them for a raucous dance on the grass or take it all in from the top of the bus, with gorgeous views of The Fields.
