Why we care
The loss of more than half of our planet’s precious mangrove population has led to a dramatic rise of CO2 in our atmosphere, which speeds up global warming.
Today, mangroves are one of our most precious trees in our ecosystem. They sequester CO2 levels at four times the strength of other trees. Together, Wonderfruit and Worldview International Foundation (WIF) aim to reverse their decline by committing to replanting 10,000 mangroves in the Thor Heyerdahl Climate Park – one of Southeast Asia’s pioneering tree restoration projects.

For every $1 USD invested into TREE, Worldview International Foundation will plant 1 mangrove in the Thor Heyerdahl Climate park. This innovative concept uses the benefits of a decentralized system and pairs it with the actions of creating positive impact.

This year, every day from 5-7pm, for every cocktail or mixed drink you order, Wonderfruit will plant a mangrove and to show our appreciation for your support, we’ll gift you a TREE coin for each one, redeemable after Wonderfruit. THE TREEHUGGER INSTALLATION
Designed by Wit Pimkanchanapong, this interactive art installation tracks the total number of mangroves planted during Tree Hour. Using tree-hugging paper dolls attached to our largest tree on-site – each one representing our progress- we’re visually showcasing our collective commitment to mangroves. We encourage our community to help create the dolls, and in exchange for their efforts, they’re rewarded a with another TREE coin (simulating a miner’s role in the blockchain).
The doll design is inspired by spirited wooden figures traditionally made by the Akha hilltribe in northern Thailand. Join the movement: order a drink, fold a doll and watch as this crafty project grows over the tree throughout Wonderfruit.
