Yesterday afternoon, we planted trees together in the orchards between Wonder Kitchen and the Walk. Some of you may remember in 2023, when we were still planting saplings around a much smaller Ancestral Forest. This year, those trees tower above us.Each of these forests are a feat of collective love. A gesture of faith given to a future we may not see.
So many things that are brought together here are done with love, from the coconuts grown, harvested then shared with you, to the chef’s tables curated and prepared in each culinary pavilion. Last night you gathered in Wonder Kitchen for Taste Sound, while in Theatre of Pizza, Michelin-starred chefs collaborated with local pizzeria Peppina to share an Italian tradition of feasting together: Una Domenica on a Friday.
As you’ve wandered through The Fields in between performances, you might have discovered Sonic Mind installations—on the bridge to Wonderness, in one of the restrooms, inside Baan Bardo. Each was carefully recorded, mixed and placed to give spaces a different meaning and context.
When you stand in The Fields, when you explore a piece of artwork, when you are dancing with your friends beneath the folds of Forbidden Fruit or clustered together at the top of the Molam Bus watching the roving Phi Ta Khon performance, we hope your heart is full of love.
Here’s some of today’s highlights, as expressions of love:
Love through celebration and community
Starting at 9am at Neramit
Join for a dance, a drink and something delicious at the Saturday Disco Brunch. Groove along to upbeat sets from PARK:ING and T.E.P deliver sun-soaked house, funk, disco and everything in between.
Starting at 1pm at Wonder Kitchen
Gather for a lunch prepared by students from the Hospitality and Catering Training Center at Mae Sot, sharing with you their Karen heritage and culinary traditions, deeply linked to community and village life.
Starting at 3pm at Neramit
Bring your kids to Little Wonder Jam for a full family-friendly day party. We’ve mixed familiar songs with global beats and prepared entertainers, games, face-painting and bubbles.
Starting at 3:15 at Unconditional Space
Have a seat at the sunken theatre and listen to a live recording of Wonderfruit’s official podcast, The Pineapple Eyes Podcast. Our Founder Pete Phornprapha hosts a gathering of friends and visionaries who’ve shaped the spaces, sounds and experiences of The Fields, including Noom of TK Studio, Nick Luscombe and James Greer of MSCTY_Studio, Dhyana co-founder Bo Sucharitakul, architect and creator of Unconditional Space Ab Rogers, and Wonderfruit’s own Senior Director of Arts & Culture Bow Wasinondh.
Love as curiosity
From 10–11:30am in the Ancestral Forest
Join the Ancestral Forest Therapy Experience to deepen your connection with yourself and the natural world. Explore your relationships with the beings around you in a calm, reflective setting.
Starting at 7pm at Forest Stage with Defender
Return to the Ancestral forest as dusk settles in to listen to improvised melodies drawn from the bioelectric signals of plants, performed by musician-biologist Modern Biology and fungal ecologist Merlin Sheldrake.
Loving yourself
From 10:30am–12:30pm at Wonderness Earth Round
Release limitations and unblock your unconscious through breathing techniques and quasi-sensory isolation in Release Your Old Self with Transcendental Breathwork by Thomas Amiard.
From 12:30–2pm
Learn to turn torturous backbends into a moment of delight with Bandha Backbends and So Much Joy You'll Puke Rainbows, a playful workshop that explores how movement in the spine can unlock happiness.
Love of art, music and food
From 8–9:15pm at Creature Stage
Listen to reimagined historic Japanese folk songs originally sung by fishermen and coal miners hundreds of years ago, given new life by Minyo Crusaders through Latin, Caribbean and Asian rhythms.
Starting at 10pm at Our Parkland
Wander into the Renegade Cooking Party for a late-night ritual of free-flow wine, beer and warm curry foraged from The Fields. Cooks make music and musicians make food, as diners watch the brilliant panels of Baan Bardo shift and change nearby.
Love, as an act of rebellion, kindness and generosity
From 1–1:30pm at Unconditional Space
Enter a library assembled from this year’s collaborators, bringing together zines, books and other printed matter. Library as Carrier is an act and an exploration of what these repositories mean, ending with an Ursula K. Le Guin reading by Unconditional Space’s curator Aaditya Sathish.
Starting at 5:30pm at Wonderness Axis Mundi
Align your heart with the hearts of those who gather with you and with the larger torus field of Wonderfruit in the Wonderness Torus Field Heart Activation Ceremony. Through simple guidance and collective intention, this ceremony supports a deeper awareness of the heart’s energy and the steady, loving field we create together.
Starting at 7pm at Baan Bardo
Enter the shifting maze once more to watch a performance that merges drag, live vocals, DJs and ceremony. Bardo Illumina by Clear Light Rave is presented by Haus of Dimensions, Betty Apple, Kemical Sistas, Yuhina and directed by Dhyana’s Harry Einhorn, an ensemble from Taiwan’s queer experimental underground and guests from India.
Join a commemoration of love
After Axel Boman’s sunrise set at Solar Village, join us in taking a Monumental Wonder Family Portrait. In a historic moment, Light Hive will create the largest wet plate photograph ever made in The Fields.
