Amao Leota Lu: Fa’afafine Storyteller

Amao Leota Lu is a proud Samoan fa'afafine and transgender woman of colour based in Melbourne, Australia. She is an international speaker, performing artist, writer, activist and storyteller who infuses the intersectionality of gender, culture and her life experiences in her performances. Amao has made guest appearances at numerous conferences, festivals and community events around the globe, as well as appearing in print media, TV and radio. Her highlights include speaking at the United Nations and at World Pride New York 2019, as well as inclusion in the acclaimed Forbes magazine.
