Island by Ruangsak Anuwatwimon

Ruangsak Anuwatwimon is a Bangkok-based conceptual artist whose site-specific works have been a mainstay of Wonderfruit since its inception. With Island, Ruangsak extends a work from 2018; an installation focussing on water. Elemental, necessary, and abundant, water exists everywhere, yet today is the scene of countless accessibility and pollution issues around the world. Island dramatizes the vitality of water in the form of icebergs. The sculptures harvest water from the ground to nourish a thriving and conflicting ecology inside, reflecting the exploitative relationship between humans and nature.
