Yam Khang, Thai Fire Therapy

Originating with the ancient Lanna peoples of Northern Thailand, Yam Khang is a traditional massage style which combines Thai herbs, therapeutic massage, and the application of nature’s most volatile element: fire. In Yam Khang massage, skilled practitioners prepare a charcoal fire and blend specially-selected herbs, oils, and spices. The massage is administered entirely with the feet of the therapist: they dip their feet into the infused massage oils, then onto the fire, then use the soles of their heated feet to work the pressure points of the body.
