SUGi: Planting the Ancestral Forest

Our rewilding efforts began in 2022—a collaboration with SUGi, Baan Suan Onsorn and TK Architects—growing the land and allowing it to shape and inform us.

We began by building an Ancestral Forest using the Miyawaki method, planting 46 native species densely to restore biodiversity quickly and harmoniously, learning ways from nature.

Here are some examples of the wild species we’ve welcomed to The Fields:

We then expanded The Fields with an agroforestry concept for future integration and planting specific trees—including a Yang Na Forest—with hopes of forming the rare “crown shyness” phenomenon.

Each year, we grow The Fields with regenerative practices, continually planting and experimenting, now home to over 200 diverse and thriving plant species.
