The Vegetable Orchestra

There are no musical boundaries for the Vegetable Orchestra, especially when it comes to playing with their food. Founded in 1998, the Austrian-based ensemble performs on instruments made entirely of vegetables, spanning diverse music styles from beat-oriented house tracks to free jazz. By hollowing out carrots and celery, cutting aubergines and manipulating fresh produce, everything can be an instrument to create unique sounds.
